Against Iraq War Lots Of People

Hearing about the war in Iraq you can not avoid the many different people who are against this. In fact, the last elections were an overwhelming success for the Democrats. They based platform on being against the war in Iraq and that they would come up with a way to end it and to bring our troops home.

The Democrats told the voters that they would end the war and bring the troops back and nothing could stop them. Well, they were wrong and they have been unable to do anything but spend a lot of time talking to the media and debating on the floor of Congress. Recently, they even spent an entire night debating the issue of the war in Iraq hoping to get enough votes to end it. You probably know the results of their efforts.

You can also watch the numerous Democratic debates on television and listen to every candidate tell you, the public, how they would run the country and end the war in Iraq. Thinking back, this is what politicians have been telling us for decades-just what we want to hear. They know that even though they are not able to end the war in Iraq, they will continue their attack about this topic.

Then, there is Cindy Sheehan who has been gaining momentum during her own personal crusade to end the war. She has demonstrated at the President's ranch, in Washington and wherever and whenever she can to show her views against the war in Iraq. There are thousands of parents, wives and children who have lost a family member that was fighting the war in Iraq and many of them are not happy about it--but they live through it day after day.

The media encourages people to think about the war in Iraq in a negative way. All we see or hear about are the hundreds of people dying ever day from attacks in market places, kidnappings of foreigners, and even the bombing of their own mosques. Then, add into that the massive costs to the United States both in monetary value and in the loss of lives or the maiming of our young people.

Just remember that being against the war in Iraq does not always mean that you are against the young people who are fighting every day for our personal freedom here at home.

It is because of the sacrifices made by these young Army, Marine and National Guards troops that we are able to live the way we do here at home. Yes, you can personally be against the war in Iraq and not believe in the reasons for the war, but you can not abandon our soldiers that are there.
